Online Ad spending surpasses DM

E-consultancy report that online ad spend has grown 41.3% to reach £1.33bn for the first 6 months of this year. The breakdowns are:
- Classified advertising grew 72% to £277.7m
- Display advertising was up by 33% to £287m
- Paid search increased by 44% to £762.3m (basically Google AdWords and the like)
The top spenders were:
- Recruitment with 24.7%
- Automotive with 12.5%
- Finance with 11.7%
- Telecoms with 6.7%
- Property with 5.7%
